Beautiful design starts by looking at the beauty in nature
Thank you for joining me on this journey.
My desire to be an artist was not something that shocked anyone. I was always creating. Drawing, painting, embroidery, cross stitch were my main interests. I went to college determined to ‘be an artist’. My career as an artist was detoured when I had my two sons but I found creative freedom in scrapbooking our family photos.
Returning to a career painting happened by a ‘happy accident’ and I have not looked back. I have made a practice of creating something every day. Painting in watercolor and using acrylic paints have been my go to but, I have branched out to paint murals both private and public. I also design patterns from my artwork.
I was over-joyed knowing that the beautiful designs I created would adorn wonderful fabrics and papers. The name Cotton and Wood Designs seems fitting for my adventures.
Inspiration
I never miss the chance to travel. I find inspiration everywhere. In my backyard, on vacations or walking thru galleries and shops.
These photos are a few of my inspirations.
And yes, I am wearing my reading glasses on my head. No fancy photoshoots, just me being me.
